About Julie Withers, Solicitor

Julie Withers, solicitor and elder law specialist, Wellington, New Zealand


Originally from Dunedin, Julie graduated from the University of Otago in 1987. Julie then worked for law firms in Dunedin, Perth, Western Australia and Sussex, England.

Julie returned to Wellington in 1995 and worked as a senior solicitor in private practice and for Inland Revenue and Crown Law. She also worked as a tax writer for Thomson Reuters. Julie joined Graeme Withers Law in 2014.

Areas of Expertise & Specialist Knowledge

Elder Law

Julie assists the firm’s clients with a general range of legal matters including buying and selling houses, creating trusts, advising on business matters and assisting with tax matters.

Julie specialises in elder law particularly issues concerning inheritance claims, making Wills and enduring powers of attorney (EPAs), rest home subsidies and buying into retirement villages. Julie also specialises in employment law.

Life outside the law

Julie enjoys a busy life with her two teenagers. She enjoys going to the movies, going to cafes and socialising with her friends. Julie loves to read, spend time in her garden and walk the family dog, Will.
